Floral patterns have been on my mind, as well as on the fashion front for a while now. I thought a post on our Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/rehmaans/posts/724665840922889 ) last week would be sufficient to discuss the versatility and the beauty of this fashion trend. But I couldn’t have been more wrong!
Floral designs entered the fashion scenario this summer with a bang with starlets all over the globe making it part of their wardrobe. Floral pants are not only fun but also are a convenient replacement for denims this summer. Similarly, floral stockings, leggings and jeggings are a few other exciting options that can be looked at. Team up your floral pants with a plain, basic tee in a pastel shade and voila! You’re good to go. The idea is to keep the attention on the pants, therefore the top should be in a colour that doesn’t draw too much attention to itself, but highlights the pants instead. A top in a soft shade, with a little dash of lipstick on the mouth and you’re good to take on the world this season. B-)
For a more contemporary take on floral designs in Indian wear, sarees and suits can be tailored and customized on fabrics with floral prints. Kareena Kapoor pulled off a stunning Anarkali suit with floral pattern at a promotional event recently. To keep it exciting and to offer more variety, floral designs have not been restricted to the usual vanilla patterns but have been taken forward by designers in the form of floral motives and patterns which are distinctly apart from the usual designs which may tend to get a little monotonous after a while.
